Charlie Cousins Even The Names of Stars Are Lost

Monday 23 June to Sunday 29 June

This new installation by Charlie Cousins, currently on display in the Spike Island Test Space, is partly inspired by W. G. Sebald's Rings of Saturn. Consisting of projection, sculpture and manipulated found imagery, it is an investigation into the narrative possibilities stemming from the re-appropriation of old photographs.

By employing a range of techniques such as layering images, hiding and mirroring them the work explores the elusive, fragmentary and sometimes fictional nature of memory.
